Covering archaeological digs and show & tell sequences in multiple locations across Egypt. Shooting main camera under direction from PD for set ups and working reactively while cross-shooting embedded with dig crews, later in series was promoted and oversaw shoot as Shooting P/D, working with an delegating to Shooting AP. Covering key moments of discovery, either splitting to cover more b-roll on-site, or cross-shooting a sequence to provide an efficient and widely covered narrative. Self-shooting sequences at times to be intercut, making sure to prioritise the key unrepeatable moments then pick off coverage to supplement afterwards.

Following the excavation of Ramses III’s burial chamber. Operating as main camera directed by Series Director, filming exclusively on prime lenses for a more cinematic feel. Observational documentary actuality with OTF interviews in situ, and editorial heavy set-ups to help weave the narrative. Responsible for lighting, setting and shooting 5 x primary IVs outdoors, driving the films narrative using these voice of god style interview soundbites. Using large diffuser and reflector as bounce to shape light on contributors.

A new show where James May explores the extraordinary in the ordinary and answers questions like, ‘can you make glue out of your own fingernails?’ or, ‘can you cook a curry in your washing machine?’. Liaising and helping in casting the ‘Dull Men’ for this shoot, involved in the forward-planning of the main shoot. Responsible for self-shooting contributor backstories then cross-shooting B cam as part of a two-camera team. Shot on location in the UK. Wrote backstory shooting scripts and prepared interview questions.

Worked closely with Series Producer to decide potential games for inclusion in two of four episodes, keeping in mind Roku’s target audience. Helped shape narrative with DP with input into scripting and visuals. Secured access to SEGA, EA, Warner Bros & more. Forward-planned/scheduled 18 interviews and travel for contributors across a 3-week shoot across US/Japan, visiting Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tokyo and Osaka. Working with Japanese fixer to secure locations and shooting B cam.
